MISFITS: NUCLEAR WASTELAND
Misfits: Nuclear Wasteland operates as a Medium Roleplay Fallout environment.
The goal is not only engaging gameplay but the creation of memorable stories shaped by player choice.
The wasteland is harsh and consequences matter.
Your survival depends on your actions, your alliances, and your judgment.
Administrative intervention is rare and reserved for rule enforcement, not story rescue.
Directive 0 — Conduct
This is a collaborative environment. Toxicity, ego play, and behavior designed to ruin others' enjoyment are not tolerated.
- Play to create story, not to "win"
- Respect administrators and developers
- Cooperate during admin interactions
- Do not disconnect during active tickets
- Report technical issues promptly
Administration may intervene in situations not explicitly covered if behavior damages the community or the round. Punishments are issued at staff discretion based on severity, context, and history.
Directive 1 — Griefing
Griefing is any action taken primarily to disrupt gameplay or degrade the experience of others without meaningful in-character reasoning.
Examples include:
- Deliberate destruction with no RP justification
- Trap placement intended only to frustrate
- Large-scale disruption without narrative basis
Lack of intent does not always excuse large-scale damage. If your actions severely impact the round without reasonable RP logic, they may be treated as griefing.
Directive 2 — Fair Play
2.1 Metagaming
Using out-of-character knowledge to influence in-character actions is prohibited.
Information from the following may not be used in character:
- Discord
- Streams or ghosting
- OOC Chat
- External communication
Streaming is allowed, but responsibility for information leaks lies with the streamer.
2.2 Multiaccounting
- Multiple accounts in the same round are forbidden
- Ban evasion is strictly prohibited
- Alternate accounts to avoid punishment history are not allowed
Violations may result in permanent bans.
2.3 Exploits
- No cheats, macros, or third-party tools
- No intentional bug abuse
- No deliberate server strain
Report discovered bugs through official channels.
Directive 3 — Roleplay Standards
Characters must fit the Fallout setting in tone, behavior, and naming.
3.1 Character Identity
- Names must be lore friendly
- Names cannot be an NPCs Name
- No reuse of dead or permanently imprisoned characters without approval
- Administration may require name changes
Good Names:
'Daniel Kukowski'
'Artorius Castus'
'Walks-On-Water'
'Goat Meat'
3.2 Communication
- Do not break immersion with mechanical terms
- Keep OOC topics out of IC channels
- OOC channels must remain respectful
3.3 Atmosphere
- Do not reference admins or game systems in character
- Provide IC reasons for absence when possible
3.4 Knowledge Limits
Your character is not all-knowing. Do not reference technology or knowledge your character would not realistically possess.
Directive 4 — Erotic Roleplay
Explicit ERP is prohibited in all forms.
Light romantic interaction such as flirting, hugging, or kissing is permitted if:
- Non-explicit
- Consensual
If staff instruct you to stop behavior near the boundary, you must comply immediately. Violations may result in removal.
Directive 5 — SSD Protection
Characters who disconnect (SSD) may not be directly harmed.
Allowed:
- Looting SSD characters
Prohibited:
- Killing SSD characters
- Kidnapping SSD characters
Disconnecting during active combat removes this protection. SSD players inside faction bases during raids are not protected.
Directive 6 — Armed Conflict
6.1 Escalation
Dialogue must precede lethal force.
Requirements:
- Face-to-face escalation
- Clear demand given
- Time to respond
Exceptions: Active firefights, immediate threats, wildlife, and faction warfare.
6.2 Robbery
- Directive 0 & 1 applies still
- Items must be specified
- Items must be visible
- Non-resisting victims must live
- Refusal to give said item after telling twice counts as escalation
Example:
Antag: "Give me your laser rifle now!"
Victim: "Wait who are you?"
Antag: "Not going to ask again give it now!"
Victim: *Does anything but give it*
Antag: *May fight*
6.3 Warfare
- Factions begin neutral
- Highest Rank can declare war
- War begins five minutes after /war
- Killing or capturing diplomats or surrendered individuals is forbidden
- Before war is declared a major event must happen
Major Event Example:
NCR: The Legion had a skirmish that wounded three of our members. Their aggression must come to a halt. With this, the NCR declares war on the Legion.
6.4 Early Raids
Faction bases may not be raided within the first 30 minutes of a round.
6.5 Faction Equipment & Impersonation
- All factions may be looted of armor, uniforms, weapons, and items
- Any person impersonating a faction may be escalated upon
- Wearing a faction's armor gives that faction permission to escalate
6.6 Raids
- Raids must be initiated via /raid
- Raids must have a good roleplay reason and be articulated as such
- Articulate the objective of the raid
- /war is required for /raid
- Raids are last resorts to solve conflict
- If denied or no response is given, the attacking party must leave
Good Raid Request:
NCR: Over the course of the week (2hours) Legion has captured several wastelanders and have enslaved them. We will assault the Legion compound, free the slaves, and leave.
Definition: A raid is an organized, hostile occupation by one faction/player(s) into the primary base of another faction with the explicit intent to accomplish a specific objective. Raids are not random acts of violence or casual skirmishes they are deliberate operations that carry significant roleplay weight and consequences for both parties involved.
6.7 Conflict Intervention
- Players who clearly surrender may not be executed if no crossfire exists
- Faction or gang members with identical uniforms may assist allies in active conflict
6.8 Round-Removal (RR)
- Round-removals must have ample reasoning
- Round-removal rules do not apply during /war
Good Reasons:
As a faction leader you have a rogue faction member that is still in the jobslot (To reclaim the slot back)
You have a skirmish with a character you defeat them, and they come back later continuing to be aggressive.
Definition:
Round-removals are the act of disabling someone's character in which they cannot return from in a meaningful way.
This includes -
Gibbing
Taking more then one limb intentionally.
Throwing people down holes intentionally.
6.9 Outlaws
- Outlaws must provide RP first
- Their sole purpose should not just be mass murder
6.10 Thievery
Thievery = Swiping items off a person (not crates) without dialogue.
- Thievery Is Escalation on it's own, however if caught can result in a fire fight.
- 3rd parties must still escalate properly.
- Example: You try to steal something off of a paladin and they notice you, they can open fire as you have escalated to such.
- Example: You see an NCR dead after a war and wanna loot their gun/ammo but are caught from the other NCR around, they cannot open fire on you they would need to follow escalation by saying something along the lines "Hey do not steal that, it is NCR property!"
Directive 7 — New Life Rule
Players may not rejoin on the same character to bypass death. Characters forget the circumstances of their death.
Directive 8 — Captured Roleplay
CapturedRP applies when a player is revived in a secure location.
- Example: Legion kills a BoS Paladin and revives them at their camp. The Paladin must now value their life and follow CapturedRP.
- Escape attempts require admin approval via Ahelp. Failed attempts require new approval.
- If you do not wish to RP as a slave or prisoner, you are permitted to ghost; however, that character is now considered killed and is not protected under SSD rules.
VAULT-TEC ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORITY
Project leadership retains final authority in rule interpretation.
